Rubavu
Rubavu District is one of the seven districts that make up the Western Province. The district headquarters is located in Gisenyi Sector, in Nengo Cell, specifically in Nyaburanga Village on the shores of Lake Kivu. It borders the city of Goma to the west in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Nyabihu District to the east, and Rutsiro District to the south. The district covers an area of 388.4 km² and has a population of 546,683 people, according to the 2022 Population and Housing Census. Rubavu District is composed of 12 sectors: Bugeshi, Busasamana, Cyanzarwe, Gisenyi, Kanama, Kanzenze, Mudende, Nyakiriba, Nyamyumba, Nyundo, Rubavu, and Rugerero, with a total of 79 cells.
